City of Newport Male Choir (formerly known as Newport Male Voice Choir) is a registered charity that uses the art of music to help other charitable organisations, while giving Choir members a means of self expression with no financial benefit to themselves.
Our motto is “Making Music, Making Friends”
Who we are
We are a registered charity and as such by our various concerts at many venues we have helped raise thousands of pounds for both local and national charities, over £9000 in 2015.
In 2014 we were privileged to be asked by the American Embassy in London to record the beautiful Welsh love song Ar Lan Y Mor. This was for delegates attending the NATO summit at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport. It was only heard by the President himself.
I would like to thank all our choristers and supporters who are a constant presence and without whom we couldn’t function as successfully as we do.
If there is anyone out there who would like to join us, we would be only too pleased to see you.
Come along to our practice nights, Monday and Thursday evenings at 7.30 pm at the Y.M.CA. in Mendelgief road, Newport and you will receive a warm welcome.
Alternatively contact our choir secretary, Mike Price, on 01633 784652.
