Frank Jones Musical Director
I come from the village of Pontlottyn, at the northern end of the
Rhymney Valley and was educated at Bargoed Grammar school.
I sang baritone solo’s in the school choir and enjoyed playing the
Cello in the school Orchestra , East Glamorgan Orchestra and the
Glamorgan Youth Orchestra.
My experience in Choral music has included being the Musical Director of a children’s
Choir, a ladies Choir and more than one Male Choir. I’m currently the Organist Choir Master at St David's Church in Merthyr Tydfil.
I was appointed Musical Director of Newport Male Voice Choir in 2006, with a vision for the Choir to grow in number and expand musically. I am hoping to enhance the choir’s reputation for quality singing of both traditional and modern music, which will appeal to all age groups.

I live in St.Julians, Newport and I have two children, Gareth and Catherine. I now have
too wonderful grandsons Morgan, and Rhys. Both of which Ill get to see more off after
retiring this year from a teaching career of 25 years at Milton Junior School where I
Also coached The school Choir. I am an associate of the Royal Collage of Music and I have
accompanied the then Newport Male Voice Choir for 20 years. Previously I played for
local operatic companies and solo artists. I enjoy the friendship and camaraderie associated with life with the Choir.
